Coal shipment for Lakvijaya Power Plant arrives in Puttalam

The ‘IVS TRADER,’ a vessel carrying coal for the Lakvijaya Power Plant in Norochcholai for the second quarter of this year, has arrived in Puttalam.

 

Accordingly, clearance procedures with the relevant authorities are expected to be completed promptly, with coal unloading scheduled to commence this afternoon (04).

 

Meanwhile, Minister of Energy, Ports and Civil Aviation Anura Karunatilaka visited the Lakvijaya Power Plant this morning to inspect the coal stocks and assess the situation.
