Another suspect has been arrested in connection with the assault of three Chinese nationals within the Colombo Port City premises and the subsequent abduction and murder of one of them by a group of Chinese nationals.
The incident occurred on July 23, 2026, following a clash between two groups of Chinese nationals at the Colombo Port City premises. During the incident, one Chinese national was abducted and later killed, with his body subsequently found in Eheliyagoda.
Based on information received by investigating officers, one of the suspects wanted in connection with the incident was arrested yesterday (04) at Colombo Port City.
The suspect has been identified as a 54-year-old Chinese national.
The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) is conducting investigations into the incident.
