T-56 rifle, ammo found inside parcel on Mahakanadarawa Tank embankment
Sri Lanka Police have recovered a T-56 assault rifle, four magazines and 25 rounds of ammunition from an unattended parcel found on the Mahakanadarawa Tank embankment in Mihintale.
Acting on information received yesterday (04) regarding a suspicious parcel at the location, officers attached to the Mihintale Police conducted a search and recovered the firearm and ammunition.
The individuals who brought and abandoned the firearm and ammunition at the location have not yet been identified, police said.
Mihintale Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
