
The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) says drinking water continues to be distributed to 35 Divisional Secretariat Divisions across seven districts affected by the prevailing dry weather conditions.
According to the DMC, drinking water has been provided to 113,354 people in these Divisional Secretariat Divisions due to the dry weather.
The Monaragala District has been the worst affected, with steps taken to distribute drinking water to 41,360 people from 12,732 families across eight Divisional Secretariat Divisions.
Meanwhile, drinking water has also been provided to 33,394 people from 11,142 families in the Batticaloa District and 20,418 people from 5,435 families in the Badulla District.
The DMC said the prevailing dry weather has so far affected 115,534 people from 35,149 families, with Monaragala recording the highest impact.
The districts of Ampara, Anuradhapura, Badulla, Batticaloa, Polonnaruwa and Ratnapura have also been affected by the dry weather, the DMC added.
