Two suspects have been arrested after police recovered 350 grams of 'Ice' (crystal methamphetamine) following a road accident in the Dorowwa area within the Kotadeniyawa Police Division.
The suspects, aged 21 and 25, sustained serious injuries when the motorcycle they were travelling on collided with a bus last evening (06) and were admitted to Dambadeniya Hospital for treatment.
Police officers from the Kotadeniyawa Police Station who investigated the accident reportedly had discovered the suspected narcotics in the bags belonging to the injured individuals and subsequently took them into custody.
The suspects, residents of Grandpass and Wellampitiya, are currently receiving further treatment at Kurunegala Hospital under police protection, police said.
Kotadeniyawa Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
