The wife of a retired Army soldier who was abducted and murdered in the Kirindiwela area has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the incident.
The crime was committed on September 9, 2018, following which the Homicide and Organised Crime Investigation Division of the CID commenced investigations into the incident.
Based on information received by investigators, the suspect, the wife of the deceased, who was wanted for allegedly aiding and abetting the crime and conspiring to commit the offence, was arrested yesterday (07) afternoon in the Narangaspitiya area of Kirindiwela.
The suspect, aged 49, is a resident of Narangaspitiya, Kirindiwela. The CID is conducting further investigations into the incident.
