Several railway trade unions to launch 48-hour strike on Sep. 17
Twenty-four trade unions representing the Department of Railways have decided to engage in a 48-hour trade union action on September 17 and 18.
The trade unions stated that the railway service has fallen into a crisis due to what they described as the arbitrary administration of the General Manager of Railways, resulting in continued inconvenience to passengers.
They further stated that the trade union action is being launched in protest against the alleged suppression of trade union officials who have raised concerns regarding the situation.
Accordingly, 24 trade unions representing the Department of Railways have collectively decided to launch the 48-hour trade union action.
