Two unidentified individuals who arrived on a motorcycle have carried out a hand grenade attack on the residence of a friend of a large-scale drug trafficker in Kalubowila, Dehiwala.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 11:45 p.m. yesterday (09).
The suspects reportedly threw the grenade over the gate of the residence before fleeing the scene.
The explosion damaged two front windows and several glass panels of the house. However, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
Police investigations have revealed that the individual targeted is a friend of large-scale drug trafficker and is believed to have close links with the trafficker’s associates.
At the time of the attack, only a 56-year-old woman was inside the residence.
Further investigations into the incident are being conducted by the Kohuwala Police.
