England and Sri Lanka are set to meet in the opening Twenty20 International of the series at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton later today (15), with both sides looking to make a strong start to the contest.
The game is scheduled to get underway at 11:00 p.m. Sri Lanka time.
Sri Lanka will be captained by Charith Asalanka, while hosts England will be led by Harry Brook.
England will hand a T20I debut to 29-year-old Aneurin Donald, who has been named to open the innings alongside experienced white-ball star Jos Buttler.
England head coach Brendon McCullum has backed Donald's aggressive style of batting, with the opener earning his opportunity after being called into the squad following Phil Salt's injury.
His debut will make him England's oldest batter to make a maiden T20I appearance since David Malan in 2017.
England will also be without fast bowler Jofra Archer, who has been rested for the series opener, while Jamie Overton returns from injury.
Meanwhile, the second T20I will be played in Cardiff on September 17, followed by the third match in Manchester on September 19.
