Two killed, 4 injured in multi-vehicle crash at Mattakkuliya
Two people have reportedly died while four others were seriously injured following a fatal road accident in the Mattakkuliya area tonight (16).
The accident occurred when a speeding car collided with several other vehicles travelling along the road.
During the incident, the car had reportedly collided with three three-wheelers and four motorcycles.
Six people injured in the accident were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, where two of them subsequently succumbed to their injuries, hospital sources confirmed.
The driver of the car that caused the accident has been arrested by police.
Mattakkuliya Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
