
A discussion was held at Temple Trees with a delegation led by the newly appointed Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Sri Lanka, Wei Huaxiang.
Discussions held yesterday (16), focused on further strengthening bilateral cooperation ahead of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and China in 2027, the PM’s Office said.
Attention was also given to developing a long-term plan spanning three to five years to ensure the timely provision of school uniforms by the Government of China before the commencement of each school term.
The discussions also covered securing the full support of the Government of China for the task force responsible for developing policies on the digitalization of education, as well as scholarship programmes offered to Sri Lankan students by the Government of China and the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka, it added.
