Three Thai national women have been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake with a consignment of ‘Kush’ and Hashish after arriving in Sri Lanka from Bangkok, Thailand.

 

The three women were arrested in two separate operations carried out by a team of officers from the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) at the airport’s arrival terminal earlier this morning (20).

 

During the first operation, a 38-year-old Thai woman was arrested in possession of 3 kilograms 220 grams of ‘Kush’ and 1 kilograms 852 grams of Hashish.

 

In the second raid, a 31-year-old Thai woman was arrested with 1 kilogram 994 grams of ‘Kush’ and 620 grams of hashish.

 

Another 36-year-old Thai woman who had arrived on the same flight was also arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting the second suspect.

 

The Police Narcotics Bureau is conducting further investigations into the incident.
