Attempted shooting reported in Kahawa
Police say two unidentified individuals who arrived on a motorcycle attempted to shoot a person in the Kahawa area of Ambalangoda today (21).
The targeted individual told police that the two suspects approached him around noon and attempted to shoot him. He said he noticed them and fled the scene, causing the shooting attempt to fail.
The suspects reportedly chased the man but were unable to determine the route he had taken and subsequently lost track of him.
The targeted individual had recently been released on bail after being remanded in connection with a murder reported in Meetiyagoda, police said.
Ambalangoda Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
