Officials explore further steps to assist Sri Lankan facing death sentence in Saudi Arabia
A discussion was held at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon (21) to review further measures concerning Sivarasa Anojan, a Sri Lankan national who has been sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia.
The discussion focused on measures taken so far and considered further diplomatic and legal steps that could be pursued in connection with the case.
Officials also reviewed ongoing coordination with the Saudi Arabian authorities and the progress of efforts being undertaken in relation to the case.
The authorities are continuing to explore available diplomatic and legal avenues concerning Anojan’s situation.
