Residents of 41 Divisional Secretariat (DS) divisions across 10 districts have been affected by prevailing adverse weather conditions in the country.
According to the latest situation report issued by the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), adverse weather has affected 1,616 people from 458 families.
The DMC situation report shows that the impact has been recorded across Ampara, Anuradhapura, Batticaloa, Badulla, Hambantota, Matale, Monaragala, Polonnaruwa, Ratnapura and Vavuniya districts.
One house has been destroyed while another 88 houses have been damaged in weather-related incidents, the DMC noted.
At least one death and an injury to an individual have been attributed to prevailing adverse weather conditions.
The DMC noted that it continues to monitor the situation and coordinate response measures with district and local authorities as weather conditions develop.
