The number of tourists that have arrived in Sri Lanka so far this month has surpassed 100,000.
Sri Lanka welcomed 107,093 international tourists in the first three weeks of September, with India continuing to dominate the tourism market, according to the latest figures released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
India accounted for 32,536 arrivals, representing around 30% of all tourists who visited Sri Lanka during the month.
The United Kingdom was the second-largest source market, recording 7,906 arrivals, while Australia ranked third with 7,393 visitors.
China and Germany rounded out the top five markets, with 6,409 and 5,440 arrivals respectively.
The September figures pushed Sri Lanka’s cumulative tourist arrivals for 2026 to 1,642,215.
India remained the largest contributor during the January-September period with 418,019 arrivals, followed by the United Kingdom with 157,895.
China recorded 107,237 arrivals, while Germany contributed 95,441 and Australia 83,431.
