Shiranthi Rajapaksa requests new date to appear before FCID

Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, who was summoned to the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) yesterday (24) to record a statement regarding alleged financial irregularities and transactions involving an account linked to the ‘Siriliya Saviya’ fund, has requested another date to appear before the division.

 

An attorney appearing on her behalf informed the FCID in writing that she is currently overseas receiving treatment for a medical condition and is therefore unable to appear before the division at this time.

 

The letter also stated that she would appear before the FCID immediately upon her return to Sri Lanka.
