A five-member delegation of Sri Lanka’s ruling Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) party will visit India from September 27 to October 1. The trip will take place at the invitation under the “KNOW BJP” initiative.
The Hindu reported the planned visit, citing a statement by India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Delegation composition
The delegation will be led by JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva. The BJP described the trip as a four-day visit. In its statement, the JVP was named as Sri Lanka’s ruling party.

Planned meetings
During their stay in India, JVP representatives are expected to meet with the country’s foreign minister, S. Jaishankar, and BJP national president Nitin Nabin. The program also includes a meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
In addition, the delegation is to hold meetings with other senior BJP leaders. The BJP announced the visit dates, the delegation’s composition and the list of planned contacts ahead of the trip.
