Navy seizes vessel carrying suspected narcotics at Kusumanthurai Beach

A vessel carrying a stock of suspected narcotic drugs has been taken into custody by the Sri Lanka Navy in the Kusumanthurai Beach area in the North.
The drugs were seized during a special operation conducted in the Kusumanthurai Beach area in Madagal, Jaffna, in the early hours of today (27).
A suspect was also arrested in connection with the incident, while the vessel suspected to have been used for drug trafficking was taken into Navy custody.
The operation was carried out by naval fleet units and SLNS ‘Agbo’ personnel in the Northern Naval Command, the Navy said.
Naval personnel are currently conducting further investigations into the seized consignment of suspected narcotics.
