England posted a mammoth 360/5 in their allotted 50 overs against Sri Lanka in the third and final One Day International at The Oval, setting the visitors a daunting target of 361 in the series decider.
Earlier, England won the toss and elected to bat first, with the three-match series level at 1-1.
Opener Tom Banton top-scored with a superb 126 off 105 balls, while Jordan Cox struck 76 from just 52 deliveries. England captain Harry Brook added 77 off 66 balls as the hosts built a formidable total.
For Sri Lanka, Asitha Fernando was the pick of the bowler with 3 for 64, while Sachindu Colombage claimed 2 for 71.
England made three changes to their XI for the series decider, with Jordan Cox coming in for the injured Jos Buttler, while Liam Dawson and Sonny Baker replaced Rehan Ahmed and Josh Tongue. Sri Lanka retained the same XI that secured a 16-run victory in the second ODI at Headingley.
The series had been levelled at Headingley after Sri Lanka successfully defended 321 for 9 to beat England by 16 runs. England had won the opening ODI by 89 runs.
