The Colombo High Court has ordered that a case filed against Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his grandmother Daisy Forrest, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act be called for a pre-trial conference on November 03, 2026.
When the case was taken up today (28), Yoshitha Rajapaksa appeared before court, Ada Derana reporter said.
Meanwhile, the second accused, Daisy Forrest, was not present in court. President’s Counsel Anil Silva, who appeared on her behalf, submitted a medical report to court.
After considering the submissions, the judge ordered that the case be called for a pre-trial conference on November 3.
The Attorney General had filed the case against Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Daisy Forrest, alleging that they committed an offence under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act by depositing nearly Rs. 57 million, allegedly acquired through unlawful means, into three bank accounts.
