Warm weather advisory issued for several areas
The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber-level warm weather advisory for several areas, warning of increased heat during the daytime tomorrow (30).
The advisory issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre will be in effect until 4:00 p.m. tomorrow.
The warning will be in effect to residents of the North Central and Eastern provinces and the Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, Monaragala and Hambantota.
According to the advisory, the heat index—the temperature felt by the human body—is expected to reach the “Caution” level in some areas of the North Central and Eastern provinces.
The general public has been urged to remain prepared and take necessary precautions against the effects of hot weather.
