A total of 4,360 people have been affected by the prevailing adverse weather conditions across the country.


The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) stated that those affected include 4,360 people from 1,190 families across 125 Divisional Secretariat divisions in 17 districts.


Four people have died due to the heavy rainfall, while eight others have been injured and one person remains missing.


The adverse weather has also caused damages to 613 houses while four others have been completely destroyed.


Meanwhile, two safety centers have been established, accommodating 46 people from 13 families.


Separately, the DMC reported that 164,348 people from 49,796 families in 33 Divisional Secretariat divisions across 12 districts have been affected by prevailing dry weather conditions.


The DMC further stated that steps have been taken to distribute drinking water to 136,569 people affected by the dry weather.
