A suspect allegedly involved in the shooting of a 74-year-old man in the Galwehera area of Ahungalla has been arrested by the Galle District Crimes Division.
The shooting incident was reported yesterday (04), leaving the 74-year-old man injured.
The Galle District Crimes Division launched a special investigation into the incident, during which officers arrested the suspect in the same area.
The arrested suspect is a 26-year-old resident of Ahungalla, according to police.
Based on information revealed during questioning, police also recovered a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting. The firearm had reportedly been concealed at a house in the Galwehera area.
The Galle District Crimes Division is conducting further investigations into the incident.
