Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, who is currently in prison following a court order to enforce the remainder of a sentence imposed for contempt of court, was provided with the standard prison attire this afternoon (5), Prison Media Spokesman Senaka Palletenna said.

The Court of Appeal today directed the Commissioner-General of Prisons to take the necessary measures to enforce the remaining term of the sentence imposed on Ven. Gnanasara Thero after he was convicted of contempt of court.
The order was issued after prison officials produced the Thero before the Court of Appeal pursuant to an open warrant that had been issued for his arrest.
Having considered the submissions made before the court, the Court of Appeal directed the Commissioner-General of Prisons to implement the remaining period of the sentence imposed on Ven. Gnanasara Thero.
