Former CMC councillor Mahinda Kahandagama arrested

Former Colombo Municipal Councillor Mahinda Kahandagama and another person have been arrested by the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) on charges of drug trafficking, Police said.

 

A stock of ‘Ice’ (crystal methamphetamine) was also seized from the suspects.

 

Police said Kahandagama was arrested near a restaurant in the Mirihana area last night (05).

 

Preliminary investigations have revealed that he had been involved in drug trafficking for a period of time.

 

The other individual arrested is also allegedly linked to Kahandagama’s drug trafficking activities.

 

Further investigations into the arrested suspects have been launched by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB).
