
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the procurement for the printing (Phase I) of textbooks and modules scheduled for free distribution to schoolchildren in 2027.
Accordingly, a total of 421 types of textbooks and modules, including modules for Grades 1, 2, and 6, are scheduled to be printed.
Bids were invited under the National Competitive Bidding procedure for this purpose, resulting in the submission of 31 bids.
Following the evaluation of the bids, approval has been granted, based on the recommendations of the Cabinet-appointed Procurement Committee, to award the printing contracts to 21 printing presses at a total cost of Rs. 1,614.69 million.
The Cabinet decision specifies that this amount is exclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT).
The Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal submitted by the Prime Minister in her capacity as the Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education.
