The Department of Meteorology has issued a warm weather advisory for tomorrow (07), warning of increased heat levels across several parts of the country.

The advisory, issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre, will be in effect for the Northern, North-Central, Eastern and North-Western provinces, and the Monaragala and Hambantota districts.

According to the Department, the heat index — the temperature felt by the human body — is expected to reach the ‘Caution’ level in some areas during the daytime.

The general public in the affected areas has been advised to take necessary precautions against the increased heat.
