
The number of tourists who have arrived in Sri Lanka so far this year has surpassed 1.7 million, according to latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
According to the latest figures, a total of 1,717,028 tourists arrived in the country between January 1 and September 14.
Meanwhile, the SLTDA reported that 23,349 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka between October 1 and October 4.
India remains the leading source of tourist arrivals in 2026, with a total of 447,476 Indian nationals visiting Sri Lanka.
The United Kingdom followed with 161,886 arrivals, while 114,678 tourists arrived from China and 98,262 from Germany.
India also recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals during the first four days of October, with 10,062 Indian tourists visiting the country during that period.
