The Prevention of Organised Crimes Bill, aimed at strengthening measures to prevent, investigate and prosecute serious crimes linked to organised criminal groups, has been gazetted.
The Bill seeks to give effect to the United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organised Crime and provide for effective national and international cooperation in combating organised crime.
It also proposes measures to protect society from threats posed by organised criminal groups and includes provisions relating to matters connected with or incidental to the prevention and prosecution of such offences.
The Bill has been ordered to be published in the gazette by the Minister of Justice and National Integration.
