Showers above 75mm likely in several provinces today
Fairly heavy showers exceeding 75 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North Western and Southern provinces today (07), the Department of Meteorology said.
Showers or thundershowers are expected at several places in those provinces, as well as in the Uva Province and the Anuradhapura and Mannar districts, after 1 p.m., the Met. Department noted.
Meanwhile, the general public has been advised to take adequate precautions to minimise possible damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Misty conditions are also expected at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early morning hours.
