Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who was arrested by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), has been brought to the Bribery Commission.

 

Shiranthi Rajapaksa was arrested by CIABOC officers this morning (07) at her residence on Poorwarama Road in Kirulapone.

 

According to the Bribery Commission, she was arrested after officers recorded a statement from her for nearly two hours.

 

The arrest was made as part of an investigation into alleged financial irregularities and transactions involving an account linked to the Siriliya Saviya Fund.
