Two individuals who pleaded guilty in connection with a case involving the stockpiling of explosives and other prohibited materials on a property in the Lacto Watta area of Wanathawilluwa in 2019 have been sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment each.
The sentences were imposed by a three-member bench of the Colombo High Court after the two defendants pleaded guilty to the charges against them, Ada Derana reporter said.
The bench comprised High Court Judges Lal Bandara, Nayomi Wickramasekara and Rashmi Singappuli.
The Attorney General had filed the case against the two defendants on several charges, including those relating to the possession and stockpiling of explosives and other prohibited materials.
