
The Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has exonerated interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera of all charges against him and ordered his reinstatement to his former position, along with the payment of back wages.
Following the decision, steps have been taken to assign Senadheera to the Colombo Magistrate’s Court, with his back wages to be paid accordingly.
Senadheera had been interdicted from service with effect from July 10, 2024, following allegations that he had illegally obtained electricity and water supply for his official residence.
The decision was reached following a lengthy formal inquiry conducted by the Judicial Services Commission over a period of 27 months. The Commission, chaired by the Chief Justice, recorded statements from more than 20 witnesses during the inquiry.
Senadheera also serves as the most senior Magistrate in the Special Grade of the judicial service.
