A suspect has been arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting a recent shooting incident that claimed the life of an individual in the Weligama area of Ahungalla.

 

Ahungalla Police had launched an investigation into the shooting incident, and accordingly, the suspect was arrested in the Weligama area yesterday (07).

 

During investigations into the suspect, police officers found a foreign-manufactured hand grenade buried at the suspect’s residence.

 

The suspect is a 28-year-old resident of the Weligama area, police said.

 

Ahungalla Police are conducting further investigations.
