Person killed in sharp-weapon attack at Port City
A person has been killed in a sharp-weapon attack near a workers’ hostel in Colombo Port City.
The victim reportedly sustained serious injuries in the attack and later succumbed to those injuries after being admitted to hospital.
Police stated that the identity of the deceased has not yet been established.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the incident occurred after an argument between two groups escalated, resulting in the attack with a sharp weapon.
A 26-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident, and the Colombo Port Police are conducting further investigations.
