
A foot march organised under the leadership of the Maha Sangha in support of Most Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, who is currently in prison, and in defence of the religious rights of Buddhist monks, is continuing for a second day today (11).
The march, held under the themes “Justice for the Robe” and “National Determination Pooja and Freedom Foot March”, commenced last morning (10) near the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy.
The first day of the march concluded in the Kadugannawa area last evening. The participants are scheduled to resume their journey from Kadugannawa today.
Venerable Ulapane Sumangala Thero said the march is scheduled to pass through Kegalle, Warakapola, Nittambuwa and Kadawatha before reaching Colombo on October 15.
