Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has stressed the importance of adults thinking from a child’s perspective to understand children, noting that effective communication between children and adults is essential to bridge the generation gap.
She made these remarks while addressing a Children’s Day celebration organized by the Welfare Association of the Prime Minister's Office at Temple Trees today (11), in view of Children’s Day.
“Children are our world. We strive to do everything we can for them to ensure a better future.
“One of the biggest challenges we face as parents and adults is minimizing the gap between children and adults. Today’s children are far more knowledgeable about technology than we are. Therefore, it is our responsibility as adults to maintain effective communication with children and minimise this gap,” she said.
