Court rejects Shiranthi Rajapaksa’s anticipatory bail application
The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court has rejected the anticipatory bail application filed by former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa.
She had filed the application seeking anticipatory bail over the possibility of her arrest by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) in connection with the Siriliya Saviya account.
The application was taken up before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court on October 6, during which the court also issued a notice directing the Officer-in-Charge of the FCID to appear before the court today (12) and report facts regarding the matter.
