Advisory issued for heavy rain
The Department of Meteorology has issued an “Amber” advisory for heavy rains affecting the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern provinces and Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya districts.
The advisory, issued at 06.30 p.m. today (12), will remain in effect until 06.30 p.m. tomorrow (13).
Accordingly, showers or thundershowers will occur in most parts of the island.
Heavy rainfalls above 100 mm are likely at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts, the Met. Department added.
