The Kuwaiti government has cancelled its decision on the requirement of the certificate proving travellers from Sri Lanka and 9 other countries arriving in the Gulf state are not infected with the COVID-19.
On March 04, the Kuwait Directorate General for Civil Aviation made the announcement, saying the new measure would cover expat passengers coming from Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Syria, Azerbaijan, Turkey, the Philippines, Georgia, and Lebanon.
The screening process was set to begin this Sunday, March 8, as the deadly novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread at a rapid rate globally.
However, the Directorate General for Civil Aviation of Kuwait today (06) announced that this screening process has been suspended.
This decision was taken considering the technical difficulties in applying the medical tests required in the circular issued by Kuwait in some of the countries mentioned above.
