Former parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen says he has requested President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations leveled against him.
He points out that he is being accused of the Easter Sunday terror attack and the deforestation of the Wilpattu.
Bathiudeen said that at least a Presidential Commission of Inquiry should be appointed to find out the truth.
The former Minister further said that he had written to the President within a week of his appointment as President requesting a broad investigation on the allegations.
Making a request not to use them to gain votes, Bathiudeen asks not to garner votes by creating rifts between communities, races, and religions.
