Taxes on imported face masks, sanitizers waived off

All taxes on imported face masks and sanitizers have been waived off, stated the Ministry of Finance.
The decision will come into effect from midnight today (18), stated the Ministry.
This decision has been taken under the directive of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to further augment the efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Accordingly, the aforementioned imported goods have been subjected to the Special Commodity Levy Act.
