President joins historic Randoli Perahera…

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake joined thousands of devotees and spectators in Kandy tonight (27) to witness the final Randoli Perahera of the annual Esala Perahera of the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa. The procession is proceeding along Dalada Veediya, Yatinuwara Veediya, Kande Veediya, D.S. Senanayake Veediya and Raja Veediya before returning to the Sri Dalada Maligawa, covering a distance of approximately 2.15 kilometres. The honour of carrying the Sacred Relic Casket during today’s final Randoli Perahera has been bestowed upon the tusker ‘Kataragama Wasana.’
