Justice Minister visits Mahara Prison…

Minister of Justice and National Integration Harshana Nanayakkara on Tuesday (01) visited Mahara Prison to discuss a joint mechanism for rapid responses to emergencies and improving inmate welfare. During the visit, the Justice Minister inspected sections damaged during a recent fire allegedly set by inmates and met with remand prisoners. The Minister said 500 forensic reports related to Mahara Prison had been issued last month, following previous concerns over delays in forensic reports.
