IPL Auction 2024: Nuwan Thushara bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 4.8 crores

Mumbai Indians, on Tuesday (December 19), signed up Sri Lankan fast-bowler Nuwan Thushara in the IPL auction 2024. The right-arm pacer had registered himself at Rs 50 lakhs base price.

Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore began the bidding for him before Mumbai Indians joined the race. The five-time IPL champions managed to outbid both Kolkata and Bengaluru and signed up Nuwan Thushara for 4.80 crores.

Nuwan Thushara has played 5 T20Is for Sri Lanka so far and has picked up 6 wickets with the best figures of 4 for 17.

Overall, he has played 79 T20s and has picked up an impressive 103 wickets. Recently, he impressed in the Abu Dhabi T10 league and finished the competition as the second-highest wicket-taker. In 9 games, he had picked up 13 wickets.
