Three persons have been taken into Police custody on suspicion of having links with the now vanquished Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), says Central Province Anti Terrorist Division Officer In Charge Sunil Yatawara.
One person among the three had been in possession of two T-56 rifles and is said to be a close associate of an up-country politician, said OIC Yatawara.
The suspects, all from a plantation in Talawakelle and taken in by the Central Province Anti Terrorist Division of the Police, are being questioned further.
