Sri Lanka’s Dinesh Chandimal has withdrawn from the team playing the second Test match against Bangladesh with immediate effect due to a ‘family medical emergency’.

Accordingly, the player is slated to return home immediately, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced on Tuesday (02).

The national cricket governing board said it, along with his teammates, and the coaching staff, fully supports Chandimal at this ‘moment of need’ and requested that the public respect his and his family’s privacy.

Today is the Day 4 of the second Test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh played in Chattogram, Bangladesh.
