Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in the 5th Match of Group A in the 2024 T20 Women’s World Cup being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in UAE.
The defending champions Aussies have never lost a single game out of the 7 matches played against Sri Lanka so far, while the Asian Champions are yet to win a match against the 6-time World champions.
Having already lost their opening game against Pakistan earlier in the tournament, Sri Lanka is hopeful to get their first win of the T20 World Cup 2024 today.
Australia are aiming to win their 4th consecutive T20 title this year after a hat trick of title wins completed last year.
