SLC in talks with Rhodes for brief coaching stint

SLC is in talks with Jonty Rhodes, the former South Africa batsman and current Mumbai Indians fielding coach, to work with the Sri Lankan team for a ten-day stint in the lead-up to the home series against Pakistan in June.
“Jonty has given us an offer and we hoping to talk to him and finalise the deal,” an SLC interim committee source said. “We have asked him for a program and how he plans to get on with the coaching.”
Rhodes will also coach the coaches apart from the national cricketers on the latest techniques of fielding.
Pakistan will tour Sri Lanka in June and July to play three Tests, five one-day internationls and two Twenty20 matches, Sri Lanka Cricket said on Monday.
Meanwhile, Pakistan A is touring Sri Lanka for an unofficial three-ODI and three-Test series.
Pakistan A lost the ODI series 2-1 to the Islanders while the first Test was a also played a draw.
The second unofficial Test starts on May 13 while the third and last Test will be played from May 20.
