Michael Phelps earned his 23rd Olympic Medal

Michael Fred Phelps is an American swimming competitor and the most decorated Olympian of all the time, with 23 Olympic Medals.
Phelps won his 19th gold medal last night at 4x100m Freestyle relay event. This gold medal was his 23rd medal including nineteen gold, 2 Silvers and 2 bronzes.
Michael Phelps aged 31, took the record away from fellow American swimmer Mark Spitz who held the most first- place finishes at any single Olympic game winning 7 gold medals.
Phelps is the world record holder in 100m butterfly, 200m butterfly and 400m individual medley. Phelps has won a total of 77 medals in major international long-course competitions totaling 62 gold, 13 silver and 3 bronze in Olympics, the World, and the Pan pacific Championships.
His unprecedented Olympic success in 2008 earned Phelps sports illustrated magazine’s Sportsman of the Year award. Phelps also won the World Swimmer of the Year Award seven times and American Swimmer of the Award nine times and FINA Swimmer of the Year Award in 2012.
